Coleman lantern 242k very rare

Description: Coleman lantern model 242k, which is dated 9/34 so a nice early example. This has been in my collection for many years but time to pass it along to its new caretaker. It was given a cleaning, a new cap gasket was installed along with a new pip in the check valve. The pump leather will need a good oiling if you intend on using this. The tank has some small dings and scratches from typical use over the years. This has all the typical 242k parts with the exception of the wheel for the cleaning lever, this likely broke at some point in its life but you can tell it was done early as the nut holding the lever is the thinner diameter style, not the larger nut found on later models. Other parts are the open ear frame with the lighting door on the base of the frame, pinned pump, double slotted collar, dark green underside of the vent, aluminum pre heat cup and hex nut on the fuel cap. It has the original Coleman block letter globe, but the ink is hard to see as it faded over the years. There are no chips or cracks on the globe and it will be double boxed to protect it. The vent has typical chips from use but it’s solid and really doesn’t have many chips considering this is a kerosene lantern. All the knobs turn freely and the door swings open. The generator was in great condition and is the correct style. The underside of the tank is nice and rust free. This is a 242k as from 1934 and not a transition model from late 1935/1936, just that unfortunately it has the bent wire cleaning lever, but that might be a good thing if you intend on using it since the wheel style was known to break easily.
