Description: Petrified Wood Colorado Palm Rough Petrified Palm Wood - from the Platte River in Adams County. Found in the Denver Basin in the Dawson Formation and is about 50 to 60 million years old. Colorado has excellent palm wood that is high quality, highly agatized and a wide variety of colors. Most of the outside's are tan but the insides vary greatly with black, white, tan and beautiful blue agate dots. Many collectors don't know of the Colorado palm wood because there isn't a lot of it around. Most of the petrified wood from Colorado is Conifer. and different palm to add to your collection, has great outer palm character. Measurements are about: 4 inches by 3 inches on the cut face and 3 1/2 inches at tallest, weighs 1 pound 5 oz. It has a few fracture lines but very small. Nice specimen, easy to polish.
