The last directorial work of Richard Viktorov. At the height of the holiday season in Crimea, the Flying Dutchman film crew leaving on an expedition to the desert leaves a fake wooden ship Fortuna on the seashore for the preservation of a local resident - former captain Vasily Kuchkin, whose wife puts unique genetic experiments on plants. Contrary to the director's prohibition, the captain, yielding to the persistent persuasion of the resting "savages", lets them live on the ship. One of the vacationers, an amateur astronomer, brought a telescope with him, with the help of which he observes the comet approaching the Earth. At the same time, mysterious and mystical events take place inside the ship, actually caused by an experimental robot locked in one of the cabins. On television, scientists are announcing the likelihood of a comet falling to Earth, moreover, in the sea near the resort town, which could cause a giant tsunami. Among the mass of tourists, panic begins, the beach is quickly emptying. When the approaching comet is already visible in the sky during the day, the “savages” living on the ship decide to urgently leave, but the road from the city is blocked by a stone avalanche. They return and try to flee on a fake ship, pushing it into the water with their machines, but it falls apart in two, one of which floats into the sea with two people. To save them, the "savages" throw themselves into the water, but having climbed onto the wreck of the ship, they lose control and get stuck on the rocks. Unable to escape, the crew observes a meteor shower and stays on the rest of the deck for the night. The captain's wife has a dream in which the comet turns out to be an alien ship. Aliens specially visited Earth to see the result of her experiments - a one-of-a-kind blue rose and giant tomatoes. At this time, the film group returns. The assistant director is angry, but the director himself sees that with the crashed ship it is possible to shoot a scene of a shipwreck.
