Comics: DARK HORSE COMICS (title) by DARK HORSE COMICS (publisher) Run of #1-#20

Description: Hi everyone - I am adding my entire personal comics collection to Ebay I have 12 longboxes full, collected from 1977 to 2007. I'm moving through them slowly, adding a few lots or single issues per week. Please check back for more stuff as time goes on. In short, however, I have basically every single X-men and Star Wars comic printed in that period, and lots more (mostly Marvel and indie stuff like Dark Horse; very little DC). Please contact me for a partial list-in-progress. This auction is for... Issues #01 through #20 (20 comic books total) of the comic book called DARK HORSE COMICS, which was published beginning in 1992 by the company also called DARK HORSE COMICS! OPENING BID IS LESS THAN ORIGINAL COST! You get a total of 20 comic books for one bid! Each issue of this title features up to four stories from various properties that Dark Horse Comics licensed in the 1990s. So you get stories about Star Wars, RoboCop, Indiana Jones, Godzilla, The Thing From Another World, Aliens, Predator, and many more. More story and character details below! Here's your chance to get the first 20 issues of this amazing series - all in remarkable condition - all at once. Easy, no hassle, no chasing individual scarce issues around. ---- I am the original and only owner of these comics. I selected each of them myself from my local comics shop, and was always careful to get the best possible copy as each one was published. Stored bagged and boarded for more than three decades, and now they can be yours. This series has not been professionally graded. As I am not a professional grader, I'm wary to assign either a number or an adjective to describe the condition, I'd rather let the clear detailed photos do the talking. Please zoom in and appraise the details. These comics are in really nice shape. Very collectible and without any major rips, creases, stains, or significant flaws. Please zoom in and inspect the photos to decide for yourself. Photos of the interior pages are representative of the rest of the books; assume that all other pages are in similar condition to the pictured pages. There are no significant stains, marks, creases, tears, or missing material beyond what you see in the included photos. Please examine the photos carefully. --- Starting bids are always my break-even price [less than cover price in this case], and shipping is always the exact calculated cost, never with a handling fee or shipping mark-up. I do not profit from shipping costs. Happy to combine shipping on multiple bids in the U.S. Local pick-up on the north side of Chicago can also be arranged: that means no shipping charge at all (and you can poke through my 12 boxes of not-yet-listed comics too, if you like!). All of my auctions always end on Saturdays or Sundays, and I generally ship either Monday or Tuesday. _____ MORE INFO #1Cover by Dave Dorman. The fourth and final chapter of "Indiana Jones and the Shrine of the Sea Devil," with story and art by Gary Gianni (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Hard Looks) rounds out this issue. Color Indiana Jones cover painting by Giann #7Cover by Joe Phillips. Hot on the heels of Dark Horse's immensely popular Star Wars: Dark Empire series, Tom Veitch scripts a three-part series of stories relating exciting new tales of the Jedi Knights from the glorious era of the Old Republic, millennia before the days of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. This serialization will serve to introduce characters who will appear in a new Dark Horse miniseries in 1993. The concluding chapters to our most recent "Predator" and "Mad Dogs" stories, as well as part two of "RoboCop: Invasions," complete this action-packed issue. #8Cover by Joe Phillips and Wade Grawbadger. Dark Horse Comics introduces comicdom's newest hero, "X," a violent force against crime in the dark and gritty underbelly of the city. Also included this issue is the premiere of a new James Bond adventure, "Light of My Death," and the continuation of our "RoboCop: Invasions" and "Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi" stories. "X" marks the spot on the comic racks this month. #9Cover by Ray Lago. This month the action comes to a head as we wrap up our "Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi" and "RoboCop: Invasions" storylines, learn a little bit more about the mysterious "X," and delve deeper into James Bond's latest travails. You won't want to miss this issue of DHC, as all four of these stories will be leading into upcoming Dark Horse miniseries. To top this issue off, we've found the perfect RoboCop cover artist in Ray Lago, who provides a truly stunning fully-painted cover. #10Cover by John Watkiss. Starting this month are two exciting new features in Dark Horse Comics. For all of you Godzilla fans out there, we've got a new two-part tale of the King of the Monsters that sets the stage for an infestation of monsters in Dark Horse's future. We've also got the beginning of a beautifully rendered three-part African story of that monomaniacal hunter of the Galaxy, Predator. As if that weren't enough, we're also wrapping up the three-part introductory story of "Who is X?" as well as bringing you Part 3 of "James Bond: Light of My Death." That's Bond. James Bond... in a very debonair color cover drawn by John Watkiss. #11Cover by Arthur Adams. This month Dark Horse Comics takes you from the bottom of the ocean to the jungles of Africa, from the pyramids of Egypt to the depths of outer space. This globe- (and galaxy-) spanning issue features the titanic might of Godzilla, King of the Monsters in part 2 of "Godzilla: Blast from the Past"; the savage fury of Predator in part 2 of "Predator: The Pride at Nghasa"; the limitless tenacity of James Bond, agent 007, in part 4 of "James Bond: Light of My Death"; and the fathomless cunning of Aliens in "Aliens: Taste" -- all wrapped up in a monstrous cover by Arthur Adams! #12Cover by Derek Thompson. It was supposed to be an easy job. With a Particle Plasma Projector, you can literally vaporize any Alien where it stands. But there's always a few hundred more Aliens than you think. Don't miss "Aliens: Backsplash," an exciting two-part tale of the perfect mission gone bad. "Predator: The Pride at Nghasa" comes to a stunning conclusion this month with Johnny single-handedly facing the Predator down. Things might look bad, but Johnny knows of even worse things than an angry Predator. Now if he can only make it... #13Cover by Kilian Plunkett. Okay, what are the odds here? A small group of Colonial Marines, deep underground, with no usable transport and minimal firepower. Forty bazillion ill-tempered Aliens. Could be bad. Find out for sure in part 2 of "Aliens: Backsplash"! It's just a paintball game, right? Nothing to cry over. In "Predator: Bad Blood," part 2, Chris discovers that not all the players are obnoxious city slickers. Nor are they all human. Also in this issue... There's nothing wrong with doing a little research... unless your research involves the deadliest organism on Earth. Catch "The Thing from Another World: Questionable Research," part 1 of a new 4-part "Thing" series. Forget the skies -- watch your back! #14Cover by Jim Rohn. Dark Horse Comics #14 premieres part one of "The Mark: Taking Back the Streets," a sharp-edged tale of a country torn by revolution. Lutzany's current leader, The Archon, leaves for the United States. But will he be able to return or will he become Lutzany's newest political exile? Also this month, in the final installment of "Predator: Bad Blood," the Predator decides it's time to really go to town... with a vengeance. Although laboratories are supposed to be safe, clean, and efficient, when tempers flare, accidents can happen. In part 2 of "The Thing from Another World: Questionable Research," when accidents happen, THINGS get very much out of control. #15Cover by John Higgins. "The Mark: What Goes Around" concludes in this issue of Dark Horse Comics when the Archon, Lutzany's despotic leader, finds himself in America at a time when his country is ripped apart by revolution and riot. But the Archon has his own plan and no revolution in the world can stop it now. Gerald Coile was a smuggler of Alien products -- Royal Jelly, Xeno-Zip, and... other "things." It was a lucrative occupation, but without retirement benefits, so he arranged his own retirement benefits via the Drug Enforcement Agency. In part 1 of "Aliens: Cargo," he discovers that such a plan definitely has a down side. Also, in part 3 of "The Thing from Another World: Questionable Research," the scientific team aboard the Donachek discovers that their research really can get the best of them. What can you do when your experiment has its own hidden and horrifying agenda? #16Cover by George Pratt. Tony Vincenzo is what you might call "a family man." So is Bernie Jinks. Up until now, they had their own little disputes in the heart of Manhattan. But this time around someone's knocking off both Vincenzo's and Jinks' boys. Vincenzo's in the slammer, but he isn't telling everything. The truth is too unbelievable. But he has a plan. Don't miss this issue's premiere of "Predator: The Hunted City." Also, "Aliens: Cargo" concludes in this issue with part 2 as Coile realizes being trapped with an Alien isn't as bad as he thought -- after all, he has his wits and a five-minute head start. What more do you need when you're faced with the universe's most voracious and hungry xenomorph? In the pyrokinetic conclusion to "The Thing from Another World: Questionable Research," Douglas finally realizes what he has unleashed, and it's up to him to stop The Thing in its tracks -- even if it means sacrificing himself in the process! #17Cover by Bill Hughes. To his tribe, Suom isn't yet a man. But he has seen the Night Reaper, whose hideous reign of fear and death strikes at night and steals away by morning. Only Suom has seen the face of the Reaper and survived, and only he can conquer this beast in part one of "Alien," featuring beautiful art by Paul Mendoza and the story of a horrifying coming of age by John Arcudi. It was a time before the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire. Dark Horse Comics is proud to debut "Droids," its latest Star Wars tale, featuring C-3PO and R2-D2, caught in the crossfire between Olag, a ruthless trader, and a deadly battle droid. Part 2 of "Predator: The Hunted City" continues as Max is pursued by warring families, each intent on discovering who or... what... has been killing them off. The only thing they know for sure is that Max knows more than he's telling -- and they'll beat it out of him if they have to. #18Cover by Paul Mendoza. Dark Horse Comics #18 features part 2 of "Alien," John Arcudi's terrifying tale of a village ripped apart by the mysterious Night Reaper. Young Suom and his hunting party finally locate the beast, but it may be the last thing they ever do. In part 2 of "Droids," IG-88, the infamous battledroid, forces R2-D2 to help steal a spaceship in a daring escape from the Hosk space station. And finally, everybody on the streets knows that Tony Vincenzo always finishes a fight. In the taut conclusion to "Predator: The Hunted City," he gets his chance. #19Cover by Rick Leonardi and Jimmy Palmioti. Strap in and hold on, because Dark Horse Comics is about to catapult you back to Arcadia and the mysterious vigilante known only as X. X's debut in Dark Horse Comics #8 rocked the world of comics, and we're about to do it again with a new, stunning tale of deceit, double-cross, and revenge in "Welcome to the Jungle"! Next, after a daring escape in a stolen spaceship from the moonbase Hosk, Artoo-Detoo, See-Threepio, and their damaged battledroid captor are pursued by the ruthless Olag Greck. The battledroid proves to be an elusive quarry, but Olag Greck has a Corellian pilot who is determined to score a direct hit! Don't miss this final chapter in the "Star Wars: Droids" tale! And, in part 3 of John Arcudi's "Alien," the Faceless One may have saved Suom and Shius from the deadly Night Reaper, but at what cost to them, their village, and the future of Suom's tribe? #20Cover by Brom. On the lava flow the Spaniards called El Malpais, Enoch Nakai fought his own demon, in Predator: Big Game. But though the Beast is dead, Enoch's demons aren't, and he is destined to meet with them again in "Predator: Blood on Two-Witch Mesa," featuring a premiere script by Terry LaBan and beautifully detailed art by Howard Cobb. Also in Dark Horse Comics #20, we present part 2 of "X: Welcome to the Jungle," by Eric Luke and Nghia Lam. Wellman's a good cop, probably the only one left in Arcadia. But in this web of politics, deceit, and murder, the only way out may be to cross that line and become what he hates the most -- a creature like X!
