Description: Welcome to The Speaker Port! Upgrade and modernize your vintage unit's speaker terminal with The Speaker Port's custom-made banana plug conversion kit! The plates are designed and created ONLY for models that are provided in this listing. This kit MAY fit other models or even brands, however, we have developed, tested, and properly fitted this part ONLY on the models listed. If you choose to purchase a terminal kit for another brand or model that is not listed, we provide no guarantee or warranty that it will fit, and you will do so at your own risk. Please keep in mind that what you receive may differ slightly than what is pictured, depending on the model chosen, terminal options for the plates, etc. The photos shown are not necessarily showing the panel for your chosen model, but to show you how these look installed on a similar unit. Please read through this entire listing before purchasing this kit. The kit in this listing is guaranteed to fit ONLY the following:Sansui AU-719 Vintage Stereo Integrated AmplifierKenwood KA-405 Vintage Stereo Integrated Amplifier Product features:The specific type of banana plug used in developing this panel is a "castle head" style cap (as pictured). You will get a more conventional version of the banana plug. This is shown by itself in the second picture.Includes all necessary replacement plates as well as the terminals with their associated hardware.Plates are rigid and able to withstand the abuse that the terminals typically experience.Allows for the use of individually terminated male banana plug tips or uniform bracketed plugs for your speaker wires.Allows for bare wire attachment (usually 10awg max), which improves the look and wiring options. You have two choices: solder the internal speaker wires directly to the back of the terminals, unless the speaker wires behind the terminal blocks are fairly tight, in which case you likely will have to use ring terminals (we recommended using ring tip terminals for in either case). Ring terminals are not included, but can be chosen as an option on this listing. If the kit is purchased on our website, ring terminals as well as some other options are available to choose from. You can repurpose your original mounting hardware (please save them as replacements are not included in this kit).NOTE: By purchasing this unit, you understand that the installation of this part does require certain skills and competency using tools and a soldering iron. If you are not comfortable doing this work yourself, take it to an electronic repair shop, such as The Speaker Port (; ...and they should be able to perform the installation for you for a fee. INSTALLATION NOTES:You will need some basic tools/materials, such as a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters/strippers, soldering iron/solder, etc. These items are not included. There is plenty of slack in the existing internal speaker wires to re-attach to the new plate, but still snip off the wires as close to the plate terminal as possible to make sure you don't "cut yourself short".Keep the wiring orientation exactly as it was with the originals. (Take pictures of the existing wires for reference before you begin.)For best connectivity, we recommend soldering the wires to the tips of the new terminals.WARNING: DO NOT overheat the back end terminals. Nothing more than a normal 40W soldering iron should be used and even so, make sure you are proficient in the right procedure for soldering wires onto terminals such as these. If the screw terminals get too hot, it could melt the plate and/or bushings of the terminals. If your original panels used machine screws with an embedded threaded nut, this will NOT be present on this new panel. We recommend the use of a slightly larger self-taping screw or a normal machine screw with a nut and washer on the back side. This hardware is not included, but should be locally available in your favorite hardware/box store.DISCLAIMER: Any vintage audio product contains aged components and wiring. As a result, you need to take care while working on this unit. It is not uncommon for parts or wires to crack, snap, or break off while trying to manipulate any part of the unit after 40+ years of age. The Speaker Port is not responsible for any damage or harm of any kind that may occur to the product, to you, or to anyone else while attempting to install this part. You accept FULL responsibility/liability for the work required to install these parts in your unit, and potential harm to yourself, others, or your unit while performing that work.____________ Who are we?Founded in 2016, The Speaker Port is a small, independently owned and operated business based in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I started with repairing and restoring vintage audio speakers and stereo systems. Within the first year, I took on both home and professional grade systems (PA systems, guitar amps, etc.). I work on all component types (receivers, turntables, tape decks, power amps, etc.), and all makes and models. I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, but spent the better part of my 22 year professional career in Information Technology. Through it all was a deep love for music and music reproduction. More recently, I have established relationships with a number of music stores and studios, servicing their units, as well as third party customer equipment. I've also developed my own line of hard-to-find, vintage part reproductions using 3D CAD design and printing technology. As The Speaker Port continues to grow, I look forward to being able to provide top shelf customer services as well as products to go with it. PricingWe are a business, and we work very hard to ensure that each unit or product we sell is ready for a new owner and able to last. Our prices will likely be a bit higher than some of what you may see from other sellers or websites. Our pricing reflects the cost of the unit, the cost of parts required, and the amount of labor required to service the unit. Typically our products also come with a warranty, and if so, it will be stated in the listing. As we price each unit, we also have to take into consideration the fees that eBay takes from each sale. As we grow, we are slowly introducing a store on our website to cut the cost of these fees. ShippingAll paid for items will typically ship within one to two (1-2) business days, however, it could be up to five (5) business days in the event of unforeseen circumstances or anything else that prevents us from getting it out in our typical 1-2 day time frame. All items we charge shipping costs are priced accordingly based on the actual shipping cost and the materials required to ensure the item is safe during transit. We pack every item with extreme care to make sure it gets to its destination without harm. We do not profit from the shipping costs that we charge, nor will we ever.Any units offering free shipping are chosen to ease the cost of our customers when and where we are able to. We still have to pay for shipping, even if we are not charging for it.Unless otherwise specified in the listing, we do not insure any item in transit (beyond whatever the shipping provides as a default, if any), nor do we add additional coverage or features, such as a signature requirement. If you would like an item shipped with any additional coverage or features, there will be an additional cost associated with them. Please message us with your requests before ordering, and we will do our best to fulfill them.If a listing is offered to ship internationally, it will be enabled in the listing via the eBay Global Shipping Program. Note: we do not have any control over what eBay GS charges for international shipping. Their cost is typically higher. We have had little choice but to go this route to lessen issues in regards to our customers not receiving their items.Warranty and/or product guaranteeUnless specifically stated in each individual listing, there is no warranty or guarantee of any kind with the item you are buying. Please consider this before buying, especially, but not limited to, used items considered AS-IS, as those particular items have possibly not been tested, serviced, and the prior use to the unit is unknown.Any previously owned, repaired/serviced, or restored items are tested and verified to be in working condition prior to listing or selling. Any issues or problems will be clearly stated in each listing and/or shown in the pictures. There will not be descriptions of each issue that may exist, so please read and look closely.Any statements made about things like sound, picture quality, or value are completely subjective and the opinion of The Speaker Port and in no way represent a guarantee or statement of fact.Any new 3rd party products that are still sealed in the original OEM packaging are assumed to be in perfect, brand new, working condition. We will not open these products to test them or evaluate their contents for any reason. The Speaker Port assumes no responsibility for the operational condition of such items and are offered "as-is".Fraud Protection Unfortunately, fraud and attempts at stolen products happen, as we're sure it does for many others. As a result, The Speaker Port has had to make some tough choices regarding how we do business online. The eBay Global Shipping is one of them, which ensures customers receive their items. The cheaper international shipping services have a lack of proper end-to-end tracking, so this was not working. We have also implemented photo documentation and UV tagging (marking) products in various ways to prevent 'bait and switch' situations, or from anyone intending on harvesting internal parts to then claim the product is non-functional and send it back for a refund. We appreciate your understanding with these implementations. Misc. Terms and ConditionsUnless otherwise specified above, the following terms and conditions apply. If you have a question about one of our items that is not answered above or below, please reach out to us.Many things can happen during the preparation of an item for shipment. In these extremely rare circumstances, if something happens to your item, or it is determined to no longer be in good working condition, if we have no spares to replace it with, we will offer you a comparable replacement, or will refund your full purchase (at your choice). We reserve the right to cancel any bids or purchases from users with zero (or negative feedback rating) at our discretion. Unless otherwise stated in the listing, all sales are final. If you have a question about the listing, we welcome you to send us a message about it, but please do so before, purchasing, bidding and/or winning an item.We have a 100% positive feedback rating for a reason. We do business in an honorable and respectable manner. It serves us no purpose to cheat or mislead any customer. We are committed to your satisfaction. If you have ANY issue with something we have sold, please first contact us directly in order to resolve the matter.Your bid/purchase of this item means that you have read, understood and agree to all the terms, conditions, and information detailed in this listing.
