Description: Up for sale is a completed, hand crafted and mounted on plywood, and matted Cross Stitch. It is from the JCA Simplicity Collection. It is a whimsical picture of a Carousel Horse n. The matting is done in a sage green but it is not permanently attached and could be changed to a different color or shape. The fabric is mounted and stapled onto plywood backing. The finished size with the mat is 14 x 18. The embroidered area is 7 x 11. This has been in storage for many years and the staples are rusted. I have covered them with blue painters tape. The fabric has a few waves in it and it probably would be best to have it fully re-stretched and remounted with new staples. See pictures of the picture without the mat. I have two copies of this store sample. One comes with the mat and one does not. The one without the mat is less costly at $29.99. Let me know which one you want. The cross stitch without the mat has been in storage for many years and the staples have oxidized. Will add blue painters tape over the staples to be sure the fabric doesn't become soiled. On the back there is a label indicating this hand crafted model was done in Haiti and the kit number was 25582. The title of the kit was AUTUMN CAROUSEL HORSE. A whimsical carousel horse is adorned with autumn fruits in this lovely design by Martha B. Wright. It is from the JCA Simplicity Collection. Included in the listing is a picture of a kit for this cross stitch which is shown for reference only as this item does not come with a kit. All the kits made by the JCA (Johnson Creative Arts) company were manufactured in the United States as was this kit. This picture was a model crafted by hand to a kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished. I was able to acquire quite a few of them; some were just matted and others framed. I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website: "Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely. We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years. JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns.
