Description: Up for sale is a completed, hand crafted and matted cross stitch from the Windows Collection of Johnson Creative Arts (JCA). It features a stone lighthouse and lighthouse keepers quarters. In the front is a lovely garden. This type of cross stitch is very different because the mat has an arch at the top and a picket fence at the bottom as if you are looking through a window or portal. There is a label on the back indicating it is kit #08021 and the title is: Stone Lighthouse. The kit wholesale price was $6 and the kit retail was recommended at $11.99. The matted size is 9 x 12. The cross stitch is fastened to plywood and is ready to frame. Included in the listing is a picture of a kit for this cross stitch. Here is the information that was provided: This vintage item is a brand new made in USA by JCA, Inc. Sunset, Stone Lighthouse #08021. "Gaze over a hill at a stately lighthouse. The fine stone detail is apparent in this design by Michael A. LeClair." Approximate Size: Frame Size 9" x 12" and finished size 5" x 7-1/2" when completed. This was a hand crafted model to a cross stitch stitch kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished. It was covered in plastic when displayed to protect the picture and still is. I was able to acquire quite a few of them; some were just matted and others framed. This cross stitch picture has plastic covering in which I did not remove to take the picture. I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website: "Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely. We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years. JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns.
