The item is made in Italy with a 3D relief of Jerusalem in the center. The round frosted glass base has nine symmetrical chips, by design!!! Those are not defects. A Jewish neighbor explained to me that the chips here represent the Temple destruction, but there are nine of the them. Number 9 means maturity and completion in Jewish numerology, and most likely represents the hope that one day the Temple will be restored and completed. Likewise, the number 18 stands for "life", because the Hebrew letters that spell chai, meaning "living", and is often used in gift giving. The item is stamped "Made in Italy" in an ancient style frequently used by CREAZIONI ARTISTICHE. There's no stamp indicating to the purity of silver anywhere, but most likely, the silver tone is silver-plated and gold tone is gold-plated. The item was in a display behind the glass for a while. It has no know defects. It is clean, but if you desire you can provide some more gentle cleaning. The item comes from a clean drug/smoke/pet/child-free home. I could only find one item in a similar style and I provide a picture (the last one) of the item solely for illustrative purpose, just to show that CREAZIONI ARTISTICHE introduced the chips to the glass on purpose, by design, and with a special meaning.
