Curly Maple Carved Top for a Les Paul #WVT

I do combine shipping if the items can reasonably fit in the same size and shape of box. - To answer some frequently asked questions on these tops: A return customer has compared my tops with Bartlett tops and says they are very close to being the same. I will not cut any wood supplied by you or fill special requests out of my inventory. I do not take offers and will not be lowering the price on listings for these tops. - This particular top is out of flitch matched pieces of eastern red maple that came from the same board. It unfortunately has some gray staining as shown that will affect the final color. May be more suitable for an opaque top. Some small dents in the back of the one piece from equipment from the mill. Some pictures before I carved the top to better see the level of curl. - This carved top is not a scan of exact copy of a real '59 Les Paul as other's often claim. It is however well thought out to mimic the '59 style. What is a '59 style in my opinion? It is 2 things. One, that the back of the body "dish" is slightly narrower than the "dish" on the sides. I have added this to my carved top. The second and much harder thing to replicate is the body contour at the selector switch. They are all over the place if you look vintage Les Pauls. I have tried to model it to some relative accuracy, but you may have to do more sanding to further dish out the area at the selector switch. Other specs I built in is a 4.4 degree neck angle, and the secondary sloped angle of the pick up plane. It has the slight "dish" to the outside perimeter around the outside of the wide part of the body. The center of the body has a nice round top, not an overly ugly flat top that some of the vintage Les Pauls had. - Machined in a spiral fashion with a very small step over with a bull nose end mill for a relatively smooth finish that will take no time at all to smooth up with an orbital sander. I have routed about 1/4" outside the top template to make up for any small variations between different body shape templates that are on the market. - To keep costs low for the customer the tops will not be shipped fixed to another piece of wood or MDF. Any warping that may occur will easily come out clamping the top to your body.
