Description: The same model hammer used by Larry Haun himself and is no longer being manufactured. This is the last BRAND NEW FROM FACTORY Dalluge 2000 available. You will not be able to find anymore anywhere. They do not exist. This is a rare collectible. Larry Haun changed the way home construction was done in america and the world. His innovations and impact on housing construction made in the decades following WW2 in the southwest are unmatched. He created the "California Framing Hammer", a now popular genere, when he cut the straight claw off his hatchet and had a buddy weld it to his hammer which he hacksawed in half. The trend spread and companies followed suit. He ultimately shifted to using this, the Dalluge 2000, hickory straight handle, with which he changed the world. Dalluge is discontinuing this model of hammer. All framing hammers now have shifted to the popular waffle face texture pattern. This model is the last of its kind, with a "smooth" face, compared to waffle texture, although it is not completely smooth. It has a unique textured face for added grip, without the wood defacing waffle face that is common today. This is the last BRAND NEW, straight from the factory. They have discontinued and run out of stock. If you are a collector, or construction history buff, this is an item you MUST HAVE for your collection. Prestine brand new condition, unmatched and increasingly impossible to find anywhere else.
