Description: PLEASE NOTE: The values of my works now posted on Ebay reflect comparable auction values and a history of 1000s of gallery sales in dozens of market areas in U.S. and abroad since my first show in Houston TX in 1979. All reasonable offers will be considered up to 40% off market. From 1976 through 2005 there were 243 editions made of about 35 pieces each. These artworks represent the last works from my total body of work. A total of less than 100 pieces are remaining and still available from my studio. Priority Mail shipping and UPS, U. S. addresses only, International shipping is usually not available. Thanks for looking! Note From the Artist:(from the artist "I have no idea what it says, but it dose say something about the whispering statuary in Florence. Open a bottle of wine, string all theletters together and please let me know. The text was printed on top of the finished collagraphwith a very large rubber stamp I had made for this purpose.") Allison's early, largely autobiographical etchings were notable for their cartoon-like style and exuberant, luminous hues, demonstrating a depth, intensity and clarity of color never before accomplished using traditional aquatint processes. Many of these works displayed an unabashed romanticism, sardonically grappling with the artist's often tumultuous interpersonal relationships with wry humor. Technically demanding, etching editions for this early work were small, numbering between 5 and 65. Dan Mitchell Allison has harnessed technology for printmaking purposes, using imagery created from three-dimensional, computer-scanned objects and assemblages as well as movie stills and photography as subject matter, which continues to be intimately linked to the artist's concern with serious universal themes. These concerns have been honed by Allison's experiences with artist relief work in war-torn Sarajevo in 1994 on behalf of the Houston-based Artist Rescue Mission.
