This painting has the vibrancy of stained glass and is housed in a wonderful hand carved frame, likely carved by the artist and suits it perfectly. Measures 21" x 25". Daniel Lafontant was born in 1922 in Jacmel. He was one of the founding members of the Centre D'Art in 1945 and a member of their council of acquisitions. He left to help found the Foyer des arts plastiques where he was director for four years. Along with Joseph Jacob, he opened the art gallery- Coin d'Art. He has been exhibited in the US, Europe, and South America. He won two medals in Haiti for Tourism and for the Bicentenary exhibitions.
