Description: The Lotton Art Glass studio began operation in 1970 by its founder Charles Lotton in a small building behind his house. By 1973 due to the rapid popularity of his unique art glass, Charles moved his operation to a larger facility after which he was joined by two of his sons Daniel and John Lotton. His sons brought their unique artistic talents to the table and begin producing world renowned works of art. Here is a wonderful example of Daniel’s glass blowing skills, a substantial ball vase with a fern leaf motif. His design almost looks like a pulled feather but I believe it to be more of a fern leaf style. The pastel colors stand out on the cobalt blue background. The vase stands 6 3/4” tall with the opening measuring 4 1/2” across, the widest area of the body approximately 6 1/2” diameter. On the bottom the signature of the artist as well as the year of production, 1991, are clearly visible. Thorough examination reveals no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. There is no staining or residue on the inside from use. Taking into account the weight and value of this vase, it will need to be double boxed and shipped FedEx ground home delivery, fully insured. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listing as often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future. Thank you.
