Description: This is a set of 6 beautifully detailed collector plates produced by the D'Arceau Limoges Company, of Limoges, France. Each plate focuses on the role that Lafayette played in the Revolutionary War. Each plate is in excellent condition. The story of each plate is included along with a Certificate of Origin for when they were made (early 1970's) in honor of, at that time, the upcoming 200th Anniversary of America's Independence from Brittan. The printed story documents have been read and have some creases from being packaged inside the same plate packaging, but they are all readable. The wording of the plates is in French, but the written documentation is in English. One of the documents has a little bit of water damage along the edges (see photos). There are rings for hanging the plates attached to the back of each one, except for one. Each plate will be packaged in a larger box, but also in the original protective boxes they came in. They measure in size 8 1/2" in diameter and are made of porcelain. (5460)
