Decoration is painted entirely by hand in underglaze deep cobalt blue and overglaze red-orange, with gilding over the designs and around the rim. Underside is impressed under the glaze "DAVENPORT" near center with overglaze orange-red backstamp (crowned "DAVENPORT / LONGPORT / STAFFORDSHIRE") above and the pattern number near the foot ring.
