One book is signed by him. Born in New Zealand in 1891, Low moved to London in 1919, where, according to Horns World Encylopedia of Cartoons, he became: Probably the most important, popular and influential cartoonist working in British newspapers in the first half of the 20th Century. Wikipedia has a 1200-word entry on David Low, in which it notes, he made his career and earned fame for his Colonel Blimp depictions and his satirising of the personalities and policies of German dictator Adolf Hitler,, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, and other leaders of his times [including FDR]. . . . His most famous work chronicled the rise of fascism in the 1930s, the policy of Appeasement, and the conflict of World War II. His provocative depictions of Hitler and Mussolini led to his work being banned in Italy, and his being named in The Black Book. . . . the list of those the Nazis planned to arrest in the aftermath of an invasion of Great Britain. A year before his death in 1963, he received a knighthood, and in the The Guardians obituary, Sir David Law was described as, the dominant cartoonist of the western world.
