Description: This is an original 9X12 inch acrylic painting of daylilies (day lilies) and wild flowers inspired by the flowers in our garden and backyard. It was painted and signed by me, Lawrence J. Goldsmith. For many years, my wife and I have been selling our art glass and other work on eBay. I decided to add to that the original paintings that I have done since the spring of 2020. My style is realism bordering on impressionism.I use only artist quality acrylic paints with high lightfast ratings. It is painted on a 9X12 inch cotton canvas that came stretched on a 5/8" kiln-dried wood frame. It was primed with three coats of acid-free acrylic gesso and back stapled by the manufacturer. I painted the sides of the canvas and added a sawtooth hanger on the back so it is ready to hang with or without any additional framing. A statement that this is an original painting is also enclosed.Please note that there are other artists named Lawrence Goldsmith. I am the Ohio artist who studied art at the University of Illinois and at Blake College in the 1960's. I have the middle initial "J." I am also the Lawrence Goldsmith who is still alive and I hope to stay that way for a while. I am well known for my work in art glass, having done hundreds of stained glass and kiln fused glass windows and thousands of kaleidoscopes and other pieces for individuals, galleries, gift shops, corporations and charitable institutions. I have been doing paintings of birds, flowers and other subjects for over 40 years and have worked in water color, oil and acrylic. I have also done woodcuts, engravings, and silk screen printmaking. I have been a member of Ohio Designer Craftsmen for over 30 years.
