Description: This is a brand new, factory sealed Blu Ray of the 2017 horror comedy DEAD ANT starring Tom Arnold, Jake Busey and Sean Astin. It's the original Blu Ray released by Cinedigm and comes in its original case, still sealed. Overview No more power ballads! No more power ballads! That’s the chant that guitarist Pager (Rhys Coiro) of Sonic Grave keeps repeating. He’s had enough of the panty-dropping cheese and wants to rock out at Coachella this year. Can anyone blame him? The 1980s are dead and buried. And the road Sonic Grave is currently traveling only goes on forever FORWARD. The other members of Sonic Grave are lead singer Merrick (Jake Busey), bassist Art (Sean Astin), and drummer Stevie (Leisha Hailey). And their mission to make the concert involves stopping in Joshua Tree for some peyote. Yeah, man. They will get there when they get there, right? Except his band, currently riding down a desert highway in California, aren’t headed to that particular music festival. Managed by Danny (Tom Arnold), the 80s glam metal band is actually rolling toward the lesser known Nochella . . . and, warned by their supplier Bigfoot (Michael Horse, Twin Peaks) and Firecracker (Danny Woodburn, Seinfeld), his stunted sidekick, if they don’t respect the nature round their spinning tires, then that nature is going to have its way with all of them. Yeah, writing another hit is the furthest thing from their mind. They just want to party and smash ants. Uh-oh. With Danny pissed and some new groupies in tow, the ants suddenly get big assed and really pissed off. Welcome to the B-grade entertainment of Dead Ant, a hilariously wrongheaded send-up of 1950s B-pictures . . . with guitars! Lawn chairs won’t save these idiots, but they try and neither will more drugs (they try again), and so they must save themselves with whatever they have around them. Imagine This is Spinal Tap mixed with Them! and you will understand just where this strange tale is going. This is a desert-bound movie that never once takes itself seriously. It opens with a giant ant chasing down a young, nubile woman as she strips while running away from the beast, tossing her bras and panties at the giant insect. If you aren’t laughing already, this movie is already lost on you. One of the best scenes in the movie involves Astin, after being gouged and gorged by the angry ants, stumbling back into the camp and then, when no one knows how to save him, just dropping to the ground, waiting to be saved. They attempt to drag him, but his arm comes off. The comedy is not witty at all, but it works to create a mood of mayhem and endless munchies. Stranded and isolated on the way to the venue, they must rely on their own dumb asses in order to survive the endless waves of attacks from these mutant ants. Tremors-like and completely stoned out of its skull, director Ron Carlson’s Dead Ant is a cult favorite on blu-ray. Carlson swiftly and skillfully move[s] the story toward a surprisingly spectacular finish, and his cast (including Sean Astin and Jake Busey) look like they're all having a ball." --LA Times "A goofy gorefest resembling a cross between the 1956 science-fiction horror movie Them! and This Is Spinal Tap. They should bring back drive-in theaters to show it." --The Hollywood Reporter "Hysterically funny! Bound to become a cult classic." --Horror Geek Life
