Exotic diesels such as PAs and Sharks, wild lashups of units bearing the colors of the D&H and former owners, and expansion into the large cities of the East characterized the D&H before the Guilford takeover in 1984. Join us for a trip over the Delaware and Hudson in the heady years between lightning stripes and Guilford. We explore the mainline between Albany, Montreal, Wilkes-Barre, and Binghamton and look at branchline operations in New York State and Vermont. Our trip takes us over the entire D&H before and after its 1976 route expansion. Virtually every type of diesel and every color scheme used by the railway is on display as the D&H struggles to survive as one of the last of the small Eastern mainline railroads. This 128 page all-color book captures the locations, the operations, and the atmosphere of The Bridge Line with over 200 color photographs. All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage. If this is a railroad item, this material is obsolete and no longer in use by the railroad.
