Description: Handmade, primitive egg crate/carrier for 72 eggs. Built by my great grandfather in Minnesota during the Great Depression era. His children and grandchildren (my Mother) had relocated to NY for work and he used this crate to send his family in NY 72 eggs and 5 pounds of butter from the farm in Minnesota to help offset rationing. You can even see part of a US Post Office cancellation stamp on the egg crate. The crate measures 13x13 x 7 1/4 and is in used, but good, condition.
