Description: Name: Alloiopteris Fern Plate Age: Pennsylvanian Formation: Westphalian Location: Upper Silesia, Poland Size: Plate is 2.4 inches wideThis is a very interesting plate of Coal Age plants. These distinct ferns, Alloiopteris essinghi, are from the Pennsylvanian of Poland. There are two types of ferns on the slab - the ferns at the bottom of the plate are Neuropteris. All of the fronds exhibit excellent detail. The slender stems are easily seen, and the individual leaves are clearly defined. The fossil plants have a distinct, dark coloration and contrast wonderfully with the grey shale. This is a very nice "bang for the buck" specimen of these cool fossil plants from Eastern Europe. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen. Insurance is included in the cost of shipping.Note: International customers may have to pay a duty at Customs - every country's rules are different.
