Description: AC-CDI Ignition for single cylinder For engines above 350cc Comes in 2 models: ACCDIv2.8 standard for engine from 50 to 350cc with a 1uf 250v capacitor or ACCDIv2.8+ with 100% more spark energy for bigger engine from 350 to 700cc with a 2uf 400v capacitor and a high quality trimmer. (Piher brand) - This AC-CDI v2.8+ replaces your defected one or when genuine ACCDI is no more available or too expensive. - Cannot replace "Magneto" type ignition - Cannot replace "DC-CDI" type ignition - Cannot replace "TCI" type ignition Be sure of the type prior to order! - Doesn’t need a battery - Highly adaptable. - Can handle different pickups coils (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, Zongshen) - Use the first pulse of the pickup signal for HIGH RPM, maximum power. - Use the second pulse of the pickup signal for LOW RPM, idle and easy start. - Works with 1 or 2 pickups. - Pickup must send ONE pulse per rev (only ONE reluctor on the flywheel). - RPM when ACCDI jump from LOW to HIGH is adjustable by potentiometer RV1 - Timing adjustment available for 2 strokes engines. (SW14) - Pickup sensitivity is adjustable by potentiometer RV2 - Kill Switch Input (connect to Ground to stop the ignition). - Safety Switch Input (connect to +2 to +12Vdc to stop the ignition). - 2 LED indicators. - Tachometer output 12v negative pulses (see scope snapshot) - Need a working High Voltage charging coil for the capacitor. (>100Vac) - No rev-limiter (Tested at 20,000rpm) - Only works with VR pickup (Variable Reluctance AKA pickup coils) - Cannot work with Hall sensors, Optical sensors or Points. Settings Let SW14 to default setting Set the SW13 DIP switches (ie 1 on, 2 off, 3 on, 4 on, 5 off, 6 on for XT200) Turn RV1 at max (position 4) then run the engine at idle, try to revs the bike while SLOWLY lower RV1 until she wants to rev. (Don't try to start the engine with RV1 at min (=0) otherwise you'll experienced kickback. The sensitivity of the CDI to detect the first pickup pulse (at start and idle) is adjustable with RV2 potentiometer. Start the bike with RV2 at max value (4) Try different position of RV2 from (4) to (0) to find which position gives the easiest start with no kickbacks. Settings On 2 strokes engines it’s necessary to lower the timing at HIGH RPM: Set switches SW14-1 and/or SW14-2 to off (default is on) See picture. KTM Settings Set switches SW14-3 and SW14-4 to off (default is on) PCB with all components already mounted. Delivered WITHOUT wires. - You have to sold the wires by yourself and add connectors - or you can reuse the original wires cut from the defective part so you keep the connectors on.
