DOD collaborated with Shoe Pedals to create one of the best overdrive pedals around. While Shoe Pedals isn't a household name, DOD has been around since the 1970s. DOD has built and produced a wide variety of effect pedals. Some are classics and many pedal companies have built clones of their favorite DOD pedals. I've owned several DOD pedals because I'm old as dirt. All solid builds that have stood the test of time. See last paragraph for more details. The Looking Glass is a collaboration between Shoe Pedals and DOD. The Looking Glass Overdrive is a two-headed beast, capable of everything between ultra-transparent enhancement overdrive to a brutish, throaty gain machine and literally everything in between. A High/Low toggle switch in the center cycles between the calmer, transparent side of the Looking Glass and the brawnier harmonically rich mode. The Looking Glass rewards pick dynamics, and the Gain knob controls how easily the Looking Glass can be pushed into overdrive by the player's picking strength. A handy input filter control helps match the Looking Glass to any pickup type and a set of tone-sculpting EQ controls helps shape the glass even further. A set of internal DIP switches helps adjust the input impedance of the pedal for those running buffered pedals up front, as well as the range of the Input Filter control. Best of all, the Looking Glass stacks extremely well with other drive pedals and excels in the position closest to the amp. I was able to purchase two of these great overdrive pedals when a music store went out of business. Both were new and had never been played prior to me owning it. I have played this pedal twice. Once when I bought it and right before listing. The pedal functions properly and sounds great. Look if you prefer to call this pedal OPEN BOX or USED, so be it.
