This is a rare autographed 8" x 10" photo of World War II Air Force Navigator, Life magazine reporter, and John F. Kennedy staffer Donald M. Wilson. Back of photo says "Donald M. Wilson, Deputy Director U.S. Information Agency". Autographed photo also includes his Bio that was provided along with his signed photo. Some excerpts from the bio include: "Donald M. Wilson, Deputy Director of the U.S. Information Agency, was one of "Life" Magazine's chief correspondents who did his news gathering on a global scale. His appointment by President Kennedy on January 28, 1961, brought to a close an 11-year association with "Life", first as a reporter in New York City (1949-51), then as chief correspondent in Detroit (1951-53), the Far East (1953-56), and Washington, D.C. (1956-60). During World War II, Wilson served as a Second Lieutenant and navigator with the Eighth Air Force -- flying bombing missions over Germany. For this he was awarded the Air Medal. As a war correspondent, Wilson covered the Korean War and the war in Indo-China. He was at Panmunjom during negotiations which ended the war in Korea. He covered the Magsaysay election in the Philippines and the Bandung Conference... During the presidential campaign, he took a leave of absence from "Life" to travel with the then Senator Kennedy as a member of his press staff... His appointment as USIA Deputy Director was confirmed by the Senate on March 15. He was sworn in on March 21, 1961. Born June 27, 1925, in Glen Ridge, N.J., Wilson attended Montclair Academy, Montclair, New Jersey; Deerfield Academy, Deerfield, Mass.; and received his B.A. from Yale University in 1948. He married the former Susan Neurberger, of Red Bank, N.J., on April 6, 1957. They have two children: Dwight, 4, and Katherine 2 1/2..." Note: Wilson would later also serve under President Lyndon B. Johnson. In 1989, he retired as Corporate Vice President-Public Affairs at Time Inc and went on to co-found the Independent Journalism Foundation. From his obituary, "Donald M. Wilson, the last surviving member of the Executive Committee of the National Security Council (ExCOMM), a specially created policy group that advised President John F.
