Description: Freshly picked from an old estate and passed down the family with Bucks County PA provenance is this absolutely glowing little miniature chest of drawers dating to mid 1800s circa 1840-1850. In the Neoclasaical Empire style and period. Faux bois grain painting throughout the surface is all original and lovely. All original throughout including the turned wood pulls with dowels. Drawers are lapped joint construction with the tiniest and most precise cuts Ive seen in something this tiny. Square nails and hand cut pins throughout. Note the turnip shaped rear cutout feet and the cyma curve front pilaster ending in tiny curve cutout feet. The backsplash also original has come loose and is undamaged. Appears as though the wire brads need replacing. Only one period original cut pin remains on the backsplash. Sold as is. Some may prefer to hide glue it. It could be reattached with tiny replacement brads using the same delicate holes Which is what I would recommend. We are willing to make the repair for the buyer using this latter method should they choose. Displays well as is however. Measures 11” x 12 “ x 7”. A delightful addition for the Americana collector.
