Description: KLM House #8 Very Rare! This KLM House was introduced in 1957. KLM Airlines House #8 (impressed number in the bottom) represents a house built in Amsterdam. Oudezijds Voorburgwal is one of the oldest canals in Amsterdam. The houses at numbers 18a and 18b were almost torn down in 1940. After a layer of plaster had been removed during a restoration, experts attributed the central section of the gable to none other than the great master builder Hendrick de Keyser (1565-1621). The building, presumably built in the early 17th century, has a wooden lower front with frontal steps. Lion masks are located to the left and right on the frieze. In the middle is a stone tablet with an illustration of 't Slodt van Egmondt (Egmondt Castle). This miniature house bears the Rynbende stamp on the base and stands about 4" tall. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or staining. The cork and seal have been removed to comply with eBay selling standards.
