Description: ECHINOCACTUS GRUSONII- Properly Echinocactus grusonii, Hildm. 1891. One hundred fifty plus (150+) fresh seeds from this season of the Golden Barrel Cactus, also known as the Golden Ball Cactus. Native originally to east central Mexico, the states of Queretaro and Hidalgo, these cacti are now "critically endangered" in the wild after the construction of the Zimapan Dam project in the 1990's. We measure these seeds and hand count has shown the lots generally contain over 200 seeds. A very hardy cactus, survives cold well, and fairly easy to germinate from seed. The most commonly cultivated cactus, and one of the most popular and well know cactus. At maturity can reach over four feet. Photos here are stock pictures of mature cultivated specimens, just to give an idea of the plant. Sadly, due to so many scam artists on eBay, coupled with eBay penalizing us for not providing tracking on seeds we sell we are forced to charge shipping on these now.Sadly, we are forced to increase shipping once again. Thanks a lot Mr. Dejoy!
