The quality of the stones is unsurpassable by today’s standards. This brilliant and gemmy cluster of Spessartine crystals in mica is from old finds in Tanzania. These were mostly found as partial or damaged crystals with complete clusters of crystals such as this much less common. One side shows a good 1.5 cm translucent crystal in mica, the other side shows an intergrown mass of at least a dozen perfectly formed and terminated crystals.
