Description: This version of "16 Animali" was made in 1972 from expandable resin, although it looks and feels a lot like wood. The original puzzle made of wood was designed by Enzo Mari in 1957. The puzzle is about 13 1/2 inches x 9 3/4 inches. The pieces are a little over 1 inch thick. As it currently sits in the box, you might consider it upside down. Notice that the layout doesn't quite match the layout on the box lid. On the other hand, you might consider it right side up because it doesn't seem that the logo engraved on the elephant should be facing up. Regardless, whichever way you decide to display it, you will have a lot of fun piecing it back together! And, as the info under the lid states, the pieces "...can be used in a range of related games; their thickness gives them stable equilibrium." The pieces are in great condition, especially for their age! You will see very minor scratches, nicks, and/or marks. The box is quite beat up, with torn corners, tape and tape damage, stains, etc., but it does the job just fine. Enzo Mari 16 Animali Puzzle w/ Box 1972 Danese Milano Resin Interlocking Animals
