In 2001, however, he gave up the guitar in tears to finance his move from New York to Los Angeles. Then, coincidentally, on the 20th anniversary of Joe's first album, he received a fateful and unexpected phone call. Thus, the red-finish ES-335 that played on his first solo album and led him to the West Coast was once again in Joe's possession.
