Eppendorf 5415D Centrifuge w/ Rotor F45-24-11 & Lid

Description: Eppendorf 5415D Microcentrifuge with Rotor (F45-24-11) & Lid, 120 V, 60Hz. This is an Eppendorf 5415D centrifuge that now works great after being refurbished. Like all the centrifuges I refurbish, it's been tested for 10 minutes of continuous operation at 13k rpm and runs like new. It in great cosmetic condition and mechanical condition. Personally, I love these centrifuges because of the easy on and off lid design, and I enjoy fixing them up as a hobby. Most of these 5415D centrifuges fail for two common reasons, and this unit had both of these issues which were repaired. 1. First, the rubber motor mounts on these centrifuges get old and crack and eventually completely break. This makes the motor unusable as it is no longer properly oriented. That had happened to this centrifuge and I replaced the old mounts with new, larger mounts that are sturdier and make the refurbished centrifuge actually stronger than a new one. I put an example picture of an old, cracked rubber mount next to a new mount in the photos. 2. Secondly these centrifuges have a design flaw where one of the capacitors on the PCB is undersized and as it loses its capacitance, the unit ultimately will cross a threshold where it can no longer power up. Many people abandon the units at this point. This centrifuge had this issue as well, and I replaced the old capacitor with a new capacitor with higher capacitance. This should ensure that the unit is good to go well into the future. I included a picture of the inside of the unit with arrows showing the new motor mounts and the new capacitor. With both issues resolved this is a great unit that should in many ways be better than a new unit and give you great service for a long time to come!
