Description: Eucalyptus rodwayi Seeds Known as the Swamp Peppermint, this stately Tasmanian Tree grows to over 60', and can form a broad crown, that retains its lower branches. The bark begins smooth and white on the new branches, later becoming rough and fibrous on the trunk and older branches. The juvenile leaves are opposite and gray-green, and the the adult foliage is dull gray-green, in the classic, lance-shaped Euc form, and the characteristic peppermint odor when crushed. The flowers are cream-white, in clusters of 7-11. Requires full sun in well-drained to swampy soil - even hard, wet clay. Eucalyptus rodwayi forms a lignotuber, and will resprout after being cut down or after a fire. Hardy to USDA Zone 7. One packet contains 1/8 teaspoon of seeds with chaff, as well as detailed sowing instructions. The seeds of this species are rather fine, and (with my old eyes) I no longer want to have to clean the seeds (remove all the seeds from among the chaff - which is very time consuming). There will be many seeds this way, and in 1/8 teaspoon, there should, at the least, be a couple dozen seeds among the chaff. You'll actually get more seeds this way than if I had to clean them! The chaff is inert, and is absolutely fine added to the soil at planting time. With proper storage, Eucalyptus seeds may remain viable for a long time - I've had them sprout after 15 years of storage! Please note: The seeds being offered were harvested in my own garden, and are fresh and viable - success in their germination is up to you - and will be achieved by carefully following the instructions included with your seeds. Sowing seeds requires cleanliness, practice and patience, and frequently have specific requirements and pretreatments. There is a learning curve. I say this because people generally blame the seeds or the seller for a failure in germination, when, in actuality, it is generally because of the one doing the sowing... With that said, I wish you the best of luck with the seeds, and if you have any questions with getting them started, please feel free to contact me. There are many fakes selling seeds on ebay - by purchasing seeds from me, you are guaranteed to be getting the real deal! I've been growing and collecting rare and exotic plants for over 45 years and sowing seeds has been a specialty. Most of the trees and shrubs that are growing in my 4 acre garden have been started from seeds; there is something very satisfying about that. All photos are of plants in my own collection - unless stated otherwise. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - SORRY - I ONLY SHIP TO THE US. I do combine shipping for multiple items - please request a new shipping total before checking out. Thank you! Upon arrival of the seeds/cutting/plant, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I want you to be happy with your purchase and to have the greatest success in its cultivation! Thank you for checking out my ebay offerings. Robert
