Mid 18th century engraved map with attractive hand color. To the right of the Isle of Jesso above Japan is shown in speculative outline form the so-called "Company's Land (Terre de La Compagnie). Remains a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina. The lower right blank margin has been expertly slightly extended with matching old paper to facilitate framing.
