Playing supporting roles are a number of advanced picture and light enhancing electronic controls. Together, these enable the camera to produce outstanding image quality both day and night and in difficult lighting conditions. All this power is contained inside a durably constructed dome capsule, tough enough to withstand deliberate attempts at vandalism. A camera of this quality and integrity is the ideal choice for applications needing high levels of security in potentially unstable monitoring environments. Sony ExView CCD: ExView technology increases a CCD's sensitivity to light by a factor of two for visible light and a factor of four for near-infrared wavelengths, resulting in a marked improvement in image brightness. Furthermore, images remain in color and do not take on that unnatural look the way images produced by IR LED enhanced cameras do. Day/Night Function: A Day/Night function automatically kicks in when light levels fall, switching the camera from color to a light sensitive B/W mode. In B/W mode, the camera is able to produce usable images in light levels as low as 0.01 lux. Vandal Resistant Dome: A durably constructed aluminum base together with a polycarbonate dome and tamper resistant screws effectively shield the camera from deliberate attempts at vandalism.
