Excellent restored 1962, Smiths "Empire" Pocket Watch.

Description: Hi all, and here is a really special Smiths "Empire" pocket watch made in the UK in 1962.I have completely rebuilt the watch, and fitted a NEW MAINSPRING.The watch has benefitted from a thorough clean by hand and the use of top quality Swiss oils.The case is in very good condition and the covers snap on and off as they should. Please see attached pictures for overall condition.The case has very minimal wear and just the slightest of marks.The excellent retro acrylic crystal has minor scratches but NO cracks or splits, just normal wear. The crystal is tight in the bezel and looks just right. The matching blued steel hands are all looking brilliant and are without any corrosion.The lovely red sweeping second hand is also without any issues, and has a rock steady motion in any position. ( I wish I had a rock steady motion in any position.)..........I have achieved this with skill over the years, and have adjusted the thrust spring to just the correct pressure.The balance wheel is really excellent with virtually no wear visible and the balance wheel amplitude is also excellent face up or down.The crown winder has very little wear and is still crisp with hardly any wear.Gear pinions show very little wear as well.The watch winds and sets smoothly and keeps good time.So a great opportunity to buy a restored watch which will last the new owner years of trouble free reliable service.
