This later company was formed as a part of the post-war rebuilding effort, and at a time flooded with micro brands such as Nivada, Felsa, Mimo, Yema, and even Wittnauer were far smaller than the likes of Omega, Rolex, Longines, Bulova, Universal Geneve, IWC and Heuer. Stowa / ERSO was one of the unique brands operating outside of Switzerland.Movement: Well maintained, this exceptional piece runs on an unmarked AS1130 movement with 15 jewels. This iteration of the calibre features decorative linear demascening. Fully serviced and keeping excellent time!Dial and Hands: The original dial is in superb condition. Untouched during service, it does show some signs of patina but overall in excellent shape. Marked 'ERSO' and 'Swiss', the dial design shows numerals in a 'radial' pattern. Hands are baton style and gold to match the dial numerals.Case: The case is in original untouched condition and just shy of 36mm diameter not including crown. Appears to be brass base metal with chrome / nickel plating, the caseback is stainless steel. As you can see from the photos, there is wear in the chrome and exposure of the base metal brass. We do not polish our cases, or have on very rare occasions. In most cases, the original crystal is retained and if needed only hand polished (plastic crystals only). Our preference is to retain as much of the patina of the watches that we acquire. Cases are cleaned of dirt and grime, crystals are buffed (if possible) and dials are only minimal touched, if at all.
