Description: The Princeton Bric-A-Brac, Volume XLI Princeton, NJ: The Junior Class of Princeton University, 1917. 404, liv, [4] pp. Princeton University's yearbook, covering the 1915-1916 academic year, featuring Great Gatsby author F. Scott Fitzgerald and covering his collegiate activities. Full black pebbled leather decorated in gilt, top edge gilt, with original owner name (David W. Guy) stamped in gilt on the front cover; with black and white photographs and illustrations throughout. Very Good with binding rubbed and bookplate to front paste down. Fitzgerald's name appears in the Junior Class list on page 46. He appears in the photograph of the Triangle Club photograph (p. 86), and the following several pages (p. 87-92) are devoted to the club's performance of Fie! Fie! Fi-Fi!, a two-act musical comedy with the plot and lyrics written by Fitzgerald himself. He is also listed in the Minnesota Club, The University Cottage Club and the Class of '17. A lovely glimpse into Fitzgerald's college career and the cultural atmosphere he inhabited. His writing would conflict with his coursework at Princeton, landing him on academic probation before he dropped out in 1917 to join the Army.
