The book is written in English and is ideal for children aged 4-12. This vintage book is a great addition to any collection and is sure to provide hours of entertainment for young readers. This hardcover ex-library children's book is complete with its original dust cover and jacket from the Chicago Public Library. There is no Taring or fraying to the edges of the covers. The outer hard cover edging, along with some the corners show usage but again no fraying or unusual damage. The bottom page edging has Chicago Public Library stamped in blue ink. The remainder of page edging does have some dirt staining and discoloration but nothing that mars the legibility or use of the book. The front inside cover has "Christmas 1998" inscribed in the upper center while the inside front cover page shows another inscription "Jess This Book is from Grandma Dulls book collection. Thought you could use it in the class room. Love Gramps & Martie" Beneath this inscription the lower portion of the page shows evidence of where a library pocket or card has been removed incidentally resulting in the page being somewhat thinner in certain spots. The first title page has a small pencil mark in the upper middle of the page above the title. On the actual title and author page the last name "Bailey" is underlined in pencil. Turning to the copyright page there is another blue ink stamp from the Chicago Public Library dated June 27th 1973. Also found on the upper portion of the copyright page is some identifying library markings, coincidentally carried over onto the contents page. There is no ripped, torn or missing pages. There is the possibility of further underlining of words throughout the book or of further stamps from the Chicago Public Library. There is an extremely slight separation of the interior binding, as seen in photos.
