For example, I have this mounted on my pedalboard so I can use it with my electric guitars but also when I want to use my Acoustasonic Telecaster I am able to route my signal through "A" output to the pedal tuner and effects on my pedalboard to my Princeton amp in the electric settings or to the board or my acoustic amp using the "B" output when using the acoustic settings. There are many more uses for an ABY switcher. This particular application was a real help for me. It is a true bypass, passive switcher but a 9 volt battery or power supply allows the LED indicator lights to show which pathways are engaged. Bottom has grippers molded in to help with slippage.
