Description: Old School Meets New School At the end of 2019, Fender introduced a new series of instruments called the American Ultra. One of the colors that was an immediate hit was Texas Tea. A very cool combination of black, gold and green, with a bit of fine grain sparkle, this finish captured everyone's eye right off the bat, and became the best selling color in the series. However, the American Ultra Serie has a polyurethane finish, so Texas Teas in nitrocellulose lacquer didn't exist. Until now. We asked the Custom Shop to do a run of guitars in this color, and as expected, it came out perfectly. This is the first of that run to arrive. For what the guitar actually is, we went with a Strat that is a mix of vintage and modern. Though a relic'd guitar finish is almost as common these days as a flawless factory finish, it was the Fender Custom Shop that pioneered the process and does it better than anyone. It's evolved over the years, culminating with the super popular Journeyman Relic package. With that, you get a look and feel that's used but not abused. Many players love the old school look but favor the new school playability found on modern necks, which is exactly why we spec'ed out this guitar like this. The 59 "D" carve has enough thickness to feel vintage, but is slim enough with a shape that seems to encourage and promote fast playing, with easy bending. 6105 frets and a 9.5" radius add to the easy playability. Also, we chose to have the finish removed from the back of the neck, to give it a super broken in feel. It's topped off with a bone nut and Vintage Locking tuners. Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups give you classic clean Strat tone with the right amount of bite to cut through the mix. This is the most popular set of Strat pickups out there, and work for a wide variety of styles. Unplugged, this guitar resonates extremely well - and plugged in, it sings like no other. We think that we've hit a home run with this run of guitars. To add to the sleek aesthetic of the Texas Tea finish, we added a Silver Anodized pickguard. This helps to give this Strat a very unique look. It also includes a Custom Shop case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity. Come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to try it out, or make it yours right here now!
