Description: Offered is a very nice carte de visite of a young soldier in his dress blues, similar to the Civil Ware era Union Army uniform, but based upon the working dates of the photographer (John J. Phillips, 1845-1920), he was in Red Wing, MN by 1885 and had moved again before 1895. So, this CDV probably dates to the 1880s. Condition overall is good, as shown in the pictures - there is some light spotting to the front, and the back is very good. All in all a nice image of a handsome young soldier!
