Description: This fine mid 19th c. Chinese Qing dynasty carved turquoise figural group features a mother dog with her puppy, The bond between mother and child is beautifully depicted in the expressions of the two dogs. The stone used for this carving has inclusions of lapis lazuli as well as a section of a grey stone seen in the puppy's paws and the rear section of the mother dog. The turquoise has taken on a very green tone probably as a result of much handling. The height of the group is 1.5". It is 3.25" long and about 1.5" deep. I can find no damage on this lovely piece.
