Description: For sale are two items about The Firesign Theatre, the comedy group that told us “Everything you know is wrong” and “In the next world, you’re on your own”. This comedy group started in the Sixties and was rated one of the thirty greatest comedy acts of all time by Entertainment Weekly in 1997. Many fans could often quote long passages of their material which combined literary references with pop culture. I mean, who else ever ended one their routines by quoting James Joyce’s Ulysses and made it FUNNY? The book, Backwards into the Future: The Recorded History of the Firesign Theatre, is a paperback with 365 pages of interviews with all four of the Firesigns and a great deal of historical information about the group. The fanzine,The Mixville Rocket, was printed in 1974 and has a fantastic William Stout cover done in the style of MAD’s Little Willie Elder. Both of the items are a must have for any fan. Both books are in excellent condition. The fanzine was purchased at Bob Sidebottom’s comic store in San Jose in the Seventies, bagged, and stored away since then. The book is like new. I am not a professional grader so please check the photos for condition. The books will be wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in a cardboard box.
