It was first minted in 1866, just a year after the end of the Civil War. The last coin was made in 1883, when it was replaced with the Liberty Head 'V' Nickel. The Shield Nickel included will range from dates between 1866 and 1883, and is circulated. The Seated Liberty Dime was America's Dime for a majority of the 19th century, but disappeared from circulation over 100 years ago in the late 19th century. The first coin was minted in 1837 with the last in 1891. The same Liberty Seated design was also used on Half Dimes, Quarters, and Half Dollars of the same era - although the Dime was the first coin to be issued with this legendary design. The circulated coin will be dated between 1837 and 1891. Both coins come packaged in an acrylic padded case, and each in a black gift box.
