She was academically educated at Holland Park School in London but it wasnt until she and her family left England on a very old boat that her real education started. For many years she widely travelled the Mediterranean on a variety of boats doing different jobs and finally "settled down" (a word she despises) in France where she married a Frenchman, took up professional fishing, sign writing and started a boat to boat ice cream and booze selling service on the Canal du Midi in Southern France among other humdrum jobs. She makes documentary films in her spare time (several award winning) and was also a journalist for several years writing for a variety of newspapers and magazines. She now lives happily in a little village in the South of France with her second husband and some cats and although still writing, cannot decide what she wants to do when she grows up.
