Description: Here's a desirable, very scarce antique classic in great condition that would be a good addition to someone's fishing library. Offered here is this copy of Fly-Fishing: Some New Arts and Mysteries by J.C. Mottram. It is undated but was purchased originally from a book retailer as a copy from the 1914 First Edition printing. There are 271 pages illustrated with black and white drawings and photos. There are also interesting commercial advertisements from the same time period. The pages describe natural aquatic insects and their matching imitations. Mottram presents his thoughts on translucency and silhouettes, and how the insect should be imitated. It is in unbelievably good condition for its over 100 years of age. The binding is tight and the pages are clean. The top corner of the last advertisement page has a crease mark, for whatever reason. As one might expect of a previously-owned book this old, the covers and spine show some bookcase rubbing wear. The spine has darkened a little and the cover corners are bumped. I'm not a professional book grader and seller and encourage buyer questions if clarity is needed. This historic out-of-print book makes for interesting reading and would compliment any collector's library. Shipping will be via Media mail.
