Françoise Sagan (1935-2004) Françoise Sagan, whose real name is Françoise Quoirez, is a woman of letters born in 1935 in Cajarc, in the Lot, in a loving family. She entered literature at the age of 18 with the publication of Bonjour sadness in 1954. While she was still a minor, she was exceptionally successful and received, with the Critiques prize awarded by a prestigious jury, the ambiguous nickname of "charming little monster" by François Mauriac. This first novel, up-to-date, is out of line with the success, the scandal and the lasting craze it will bring about. His second novel, Un certain smile, confirms his place as a writer and assures him, despite critics, a faithful readership. His writing, which is called "small music", is based on the painting of feelings, short, sometimes lapidary sentences, the modernity of a bitter-sweet tone and modesty mixed with the taste of provocation. In 1957, she experienced a very serious car accident from which she would emerge dependent on opiates and had to free herself. Between a legend that no longer leaves her (casino, whisky, nightclubs and Ferrari), her readings, her friends, Françoise Sagan has published about twenty novels, including La Chamade, La Femme, a dozen plays, including Château in Sweden, collections of short stories, writing songs, biographies, collaborated in the writing of Landru's screenplay with Claude.
