Electrolytic copper softens at around 260°C and has low wear resistance. E-Cu contact tips are primarily used in the low ampere range for manual welding applications. Ideal for steel/CrNi and aluminum/CuSi welding. The CuCrZr contact tip is made from a copper-chrome-zirconium alloy. These alloy elements make its electrical conductivity slightly lower than that of the E-Cu contact tip, but its temperature resistance extends up to 500°C. CuCrZr contact tips are right at home in the medium to high ampere range for manual and robotic welding applications. Ideal for steel and CrNi welding. The WQ contact tip (tungsten-copper quality) is an E-Cu contact tip with a tungsten-copper core. The high temperature resistance of tungsten is impressive and combines perfectly with the high electrical and thermal conductivity of copper.
