THAT ORIGINAL WALBRO 3000 SERIES FUEL PUMP WAS DISCONTINUED FOR A VERY GOOD REASON!WALBRO FOUND IT TO BE A LITTLE OVERWORKED AT TRYING TO PUMP THE FUEL. THE ORIGINAL 3000 SERIES HAD LESS THAN A QUARTER SIZE DIAPHARGM INSIDE OF IT TO PULL THE FUEL. IT WAS FINE TO USE THAT 3000 SERIES WITH LIKE THE SMALL FUEL TANKS THAT SAT ABOVE THE ENGINE LIKE THEM FUEL TANKS THAT WAS UNDER THE HOOD OF A TRACTOR OR OTHERS ALIKE. NOW WHEN THE TRACTOR COMPANIES AND OTHERS STARTED ENLARGING THE FUEL CELL AND MOUNTING IT BELOW / A GREAT DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE ENGINE, IS WHEN WALBRO KNEW THAT THEY HAD TO THEY ENLARGED THE DIAPHRAGM. THEY ENLARGED IT BY THREE FOLD TO HELP PULL THE FUEL FASTER TO KEEP THE ENGINES STARTER MOTOR FROM BEING WORN OUT SO QUICKLY ALL WHILE TRYING TO PRESERVE THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY AS WELL DURING COLD STARTS. THIS OE ONE IS MADE OF A POLY RESIN FIBER (NOT CHEAP PLASTIC) THAT HAS A LARGER AND THICKER PIT LINER DIAPHRAGM INSIDE OF IT. YOU CAN ALSO CAREFULLY TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN IT IF NEEDED. THESE ALSO COME WITH TINY LITTLE RUBBER CAPS TO COVER THE FUEL PUMP PORTS. THAT WAS MAINLY DONE TO KEEP INSECTS FROM GETTING INSIDE OF IT TO RUIN THE DIAPHRAGM DURING STORAGE. THAT IS JUST ANOTHER PREVENTATIVE MEASURE TAKEN SO YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE A WORRY-FREE OE FUEL PUMP STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! HERE IS THE NUMBER (2.) THING... EVEN IF THEY DID ACIDENTLY MAKE THE DIAPHRAGM THE RIGHT SIZE, IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK RIGHT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT MAKE THE BRASS BREATHER VENT WITH THE RIGHT AIR FLOW TO ALLOW FOR THE DIAPHRAGM TO PASS THAT AIR THRU IT TO ALLOW THE DIAPHRAGM TOBE ABLE TO PUMP THE FUEL!!! 3. THE MATERIAL THAT THEY USED TO MAKE THE DIAPHRAGM IS NOT MADE OF THICK RUBBER AND THE SPRING THEY USED TO PUSH THE DIAPHRAGM BACK WAS MADE TOO STIFF SO THAT IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE ENGINES PISTON TO MAKE THE MOVEMENT OF WHAT THE DIAPHRAGM NEEDS IN ORDER TO PUMP THE FUEL!!! JUST ALL AROUND MADE WRONG!!! WITH SOME OF THESE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY OR IF EVEN AT ALL, THEN IT WILL NOT BE LONG BEFORE YOU HAVE TO START DUMPING IN MORE TIME IN LABOR, MONEY AND FRUSTRATION OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE RETURNS PROCESS OF SENDING THEIR JUNK BACK TO THEM. IF YOU ARE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC THEN TAKE THE CARBURETOR APART YOURSELF AND REMOVE THE FLOAT BOWL AND NEEDLE FROM THE NEEDLE SEAT. NOW ATTACH AN AIR HOSE TO THE NEEDLE SEAT WHERE YOU PULLED THE NEEDLE OUT OF AND BLOW BACK THROUGH IT WITH AN AIR HOSE. IT SHOULD HAVE NOW BLOWN OUT WHATEVER IT WAS THAT PLUGGED IT UP. NOW REASSEMBLE THE CARBURETOR IN THE SAME MANNER IT WAS TAKEN APART AND TRY TO BLOW BACK INTO THE CARBURETOR FROM THE INLET PORT GOING IN TO THE CARBURETOR. YOUR PROBLEM SHOULD NOW BE SOLVED.
