Description: Up for sale is a single 2003 Takara bookstyle reissue Soundblaster figure cast in what used to be crystal clear plastic that has sadly yellowed over the years. Figure is mint. I cannot risk transforming with the notoriously brittle clear plastic, but I assure you, it’s perfect. Like all figures of this type, the fitment and tolerances will be a little loose. This Soundblaster figure has long been the source of debate. When the bookstyle reissues were released and shortly after clear versions surfaced, the consensus was that they were gifts given by Takara to employees. Shortly after specific bookstyle figure characters started surfacing that were cast in translucent bright non-released color schemes. These were said to have been made by rogue factory employees on their lunch breaks and deemed “lunchtime specials”. They have been referred to as employee gifts, testshots, Prototype, and lunchtime specials. I honestly don’t know the true origin of this particular figure. With it turning 20 years old, it’s mystery is intriguing! These figures were never meant to leave the hands of factory employees and are nearly impossible to find.
